She then spent 8 years at Chicago boutique ad agency Eisaman, Johns & Laws doing strategic brand marketing for multiple blue chip clients. Then it was on to the world of broadcast programming, where she spent 10 years at Tribune Entertainment and Public Television. Then in 2004 Mary Beth partnered with Jim Courtright to found Big Thinking By The Hour, Inc.
